SEAFARI TEC PATTAYA THAILAND
We are a PADI Tec Rec Center. This rating is awarded to exceptional PADI Dive Centers that teach PADI technical diving courses. With PADI Tec Rec Instructors on staff, we offer technical open-circuit training, tec sidemount courses or tec programs for Closed-Circuit Rebreather (CCR) diving.
The PADI TecRec Deep programmes are integrated into a seamless course flow that takes you from the beginning of Tec diving to someone who is qualified to use a number of different gas mixes. At each level, you will be introduced to new gear as well as planning and procedures that are appropriate to extend you diving limits. The Tec Diver program is broken down into three sub-courses: Tec 40, Tec 45 and Tec 50, these courses can be completed continuously or alternatively, each course can be completed separately with a period between them.
Trimix diving is a type of diving that involves a combination of three gases: oxygen, nitrogen, and helium
Trimix is a specialized breathing gas blend used in technical diving, consisting of oxygen, nitrogen, and helium. By replacing a portion of nitrogen with helium, Trimix reduces the effects of nitrogen narcosis and decreases gas density, making it easier to breathe at extreme depths. This allows divers to safely explore deeper environments beyond the limits of standard air or nitrox, where increased pressure can have dangerous physiological effects.
As divers descend deeper, nitrogen narcosis and oxygen toxicity become significant risks. Trimix helps mitigate these dangers by reducing the amount of nitrogen and oxygen in the breathing mix, allowing for safer and longer dives at greater depths. Additionally, the lower gas density provided by helium reduces breathing resistance, improving overall comfort and efficiency during deep dives. This makes Trimix an essential tool for technical divers exploring wrecks, caves, and deep-water environments.
Beyond the popular recreational sites, Pattaya’s underwater landscape offers a range of deep dive locations ideal for technical, nitrox, and trimix diving. These sites, often lying between 40 to 70 meters deep, are accessible only on specially organized technical dive trips designed for trained divers using extended range and staged decompression techniques.
Among the most notable are deep natural reefs, submerged pinnacles, and lesser-known wrecks that lie beyond the limits of recreational diving. Sites like the former Vertical Wreck (PAK1), Far Islands Deep Reefs, and Deep Same San Hole offer rare opportunities to explore untouched marine environments, historical debris fields, and complex underwater topography that few divers ever get to see.
Diving these depths demands meticulous planning, proper gas mixes including Enriched Air Nitrox, Helitrox, or Trimix and solid skills in decompression procedures and redundant equipment handling. The rewards, however, are immense: stunning visibility, larger pelagic encounters, and an intense sense of discovery in these remote and rarely visited underwater realms.
Whether you’re building up your technical diving certifications or are a seasoned tec diver looking for new challenges, Pattaya’s deep dive sites offer the perfect stage for pushing your limits and diving deeper into history and adventure.
Technical diving goes beyond recreational diving limits, involving deeper depths, extended bottom times, and the use of specialized gas mixtures like Nitrox, Trimix, and oxygen for decompression. It often requires advanced equipment, redundancy, and detailed dive planning.
Recreational diving is limited to 40 meters with no mandatory decompression stops, while technical diving extends beyond these limits, often requiring decompression stops, mixed gases, and more complex equipment configurations.
To begin technical diving, you typically need to be an experienced diver with at least an Advanced Open Water certification and some deep diving experience. Most courses also require an Enriched Air Nitrox certification.
Pattaya offers a range of deep wrecks, artificial reefs, and offshore sites like the 100m hole that are perfect for technical diving. The area’s warm waters, good visibility, and convenient dive infrastructure make it an ideal place to train and explore.
Popular technical dive sites in Pattaya include the HTMS Khood and the SS Suddhadib (Hardeep Wreck), as well as deeper sites like the Samae San 100m Deep Hole and Shark Rock Ledge at 60m and technical wrecks in the Gulf of Thailand like the Sarisen and the PAC 1 ( formerly vertical wreck) dive sites. Most wrecks offer exciting penetration dives and deep-water exploration.
Technical divers use gas mixtures like Trimix (oxygen, nitrogen, helium) for deep diving, Nitrox (oxygen-enriched air) for extended bottom times, and pure oxygen or high-oxygen mixes for accelerated decompression.
Entry-level technical diving courses, such as Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures, can take about 4–5 days. More advanced courses like Trimix or Technical Wreck Diving require additional time and experience.
Yes! If you’re comfortable with deep dives and good with buoyancy control, you can start with courses like Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures to transition into technical diving.
Seafari Tech offers expert training, a dedicated dive boat, Trimix gas blending, and experienced instructors specializing in deep wreck and Trimix diving. With top-notch facilities and easy access to Pattaya’s best technical dive sites, it’s the perfect place to advance your diving skills.
